Although this site is English registered, and does not have to comply with Coppa regulations, we have decided to comply fully with
the Terms and Conditions of this legislation.
As Webmaster for the Witheridge Village Website, I do herby confirm that this site will at all times abide by the terms and conditions of
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act which came into effect on April 21, 2000, and relates to the online collection of personal
information from children under 13 years of age, the main points of which are summarised below.
Only those websites that directly target, and knowingly collect information from children aged 13 years or under are required to be COPPA
compliant. These sites are required to post a clear and comprehensive Privacy Policy on site which clearly describes their information
practices regarding the collection of any children's personal information. They are also required to provide notice to the parents of
children, and with only limited exceptions, to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from children.
Parents should also be given access to their children's personal information, and have the opportunity to review and /or have
it deleted. Parents should also be given the chance to consent to the operators collection and use of a child's information whilst at
the same time prohibiting any information being made available to third parties.
