Just a reminder that The Rest-a-While Day Centre is open six mornings a week from 10am to 12 noon. All are invited to drop in for a cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. It is an ideal chance to catch up on the local news, and to meet and make new friends. Whether you live in the village, are a visitor, or are just passing through, you are assured of a warm and friendly welcome.

The Centre was opened in 1992 on a site previously occupied by garages, and before that cob and thatch cottages, and it was developed thanks to the efforts of a number of people. People have continued to give generously of their time, and all have helped to make Witheridge a better, friendlier place and helped give companionship to many, local and travellers passing through Witheridge.

Reading our Visitors book shows that people from all over the world have called, signed, appreciated and carried our goodwill worldwide.

Chairman's Report

The Rest-a-While has recently had a new roof which will hopefully solve all our recent problems with water slowly damaging the ceiling, and this was repaired and decorated at the same time.

We are looking forward to our Christmas Party when we say a very big thank you to all our helpers who serve the drinks, help at bingo and also the bring and buy sales, but we also have a number of very good friends who probably won't be there.

Thanks also to the volunteers who painted the front of the building and all the windows. Thanks also to the person who finished the lead on the roof the lead on the roof and helped me enormously when selecting the new roof. So to everyone who helps in whatever way, if it's only coming in to have a drink, you are all part of it. Many, many thanks. Peter Tout
